‘Die in’ protest outside law center after Ferguson decision

Die-in outside law center
Dean Ronald Weich addressed students and others who gathered outside the law center Nov. 25 for a “die in” to protest a grand jury’s decision not to indict a Ferguson, Mo., police officer who fatally shot an unarmed teenager. Weich also spoke with members of the media, including reporters from NPR and the Baltimore Brew website. News of the event appeared in those outlets, as well as in The Baltimore Sun, The Daily Record, WJZ-TV (Baltimore’s CBS affiliate) and The National Law Journal. In an interview after the demonstration, Weich said: “I hope that over the long term people are committed to engaging in … coalition-building to change laws and change practices. … Every significant social change in this country has come about through lawful means.”
