Claudia Diamond, the director of academic support, sends news about the law school’s brand-new Legal Writing Center:
This past week, the Legal Writing Center quietly opened its doors by serving nine students referred to us by their first-year faculty.
We are officially open for business.
Throughout September, Dr. Isabell May, the assistant director of writing services for the University, and I trained a group of Legal Writing Fellows on topics including grammar and syntax, organizational structure, ESL concerns, peer-instructor and writing-center pedagogy, and effective commenting techniques. We are fortunate to have an inaugural class of fellows who are exceptional. Their bios are here.
This effort is being funded as one-year project by the UB Foundation. Our success is dependent on serving students, so please direct them to the center! We are also advertising the center directly to the students.
