Alumnus installed as MSBA president at Ocean City meeting

The Hon. Harry C. Storm, J.D. ʽ79, was installed last week as the 123rd president of the Maryland State Bar Association at the group’s Annual Meeting and Joint Bench-Bar Conference in Ocean City. Judge Storm was appointed to the Montgomery County Circuit Court bench in December 2015 by Gov. Larry Hogan.

Judge Storm succeeds a former law school classmate, the Hon. Pamila J. Brown, J.D. ʽ79, as MSBA president. Judge Brown serves on the Howard County District Court.

Storm leads a slate of newly elected officers that includes the Hon. Keith R. Truffer, J.D. ʽ82, of the Circuit Court for Baltimore County, who serves as MSBA secretary, and the Hon. Mark F. Scurti, J.D. ʽ91, of the Baltimore City District Court, the group’s treasurer.

The Hon. C. Philip Nichols Jr., J.D. ʽ73, chief judge of the Seventh Judicial Circuit, received the Judge Anselm Sodaro Judicial Civility Award at the Ocean City meeting.

The University of Baltimore School of Law sponsored a reception Thursday evening at the Clarion Resort Fontainebleau Hotel in Ocean City.

Assistant Dean of Law Career Development Jill Green, J.D. ’94, was up early Friday morning for the annual Young Lawyers Section Sun Run — and won the women’s 5K for the fifth year in a row. See story in The Daily Record, which sponsored the run. Go Jill!
