Professor J. Amy Dillard took part in a discussion Friday on WYPR-FM’s “Midday” program, which examined the U.S. Department of Justice report on the Baltimore Police Department released this week.

In particular, the discussion focused on the Justice Department’s conclusion that the city police department disproportionately stops, searches and arrests African Americans in violation of federal law and the U.S. Constitution. The Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division investigators found evidence of intentional discrimination against black Baltimoreans, as well as a failure of the department to investigate complaints of racial bias by officers.
