Registration is now open for the UB School of Law’s Seventh Annual Fannie Angelos Gala, to be held virtually via Zoom on Thursday, Nov. 19 from 7 to 8 p.m.
Themed A Call to Action: The Urgent Need for Diversity in the Legal Profession, the virtual gala will celebrate the work of students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the award-winning Fannie Angelos Program for Academic Excellence. The program prepares students from Maryland’s historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and other select colleges for admission to law school, and continues to work with them so that they may excel and thrive throughout their legal careers. The program provides extensive LSAT preparation, one-on-one academic mentoring, individualized “whole life” support, and career counseling.
The result is the most successful program of its kind for legal education. The program won the ABA Section of Litigation’s prestigious Diversity Leadership Award in 2017.
The evening will include a chance to meet current students in the program and hear from speakers who are championing the fight for justice and a more diverse legal system.
Registration to attend the virtual gala is free; however, guests are asked to register in advance. Partnership opportunities are also available for organizations and individuals ranging from $1,000 to $10,000.
